Practice Schedule & Training Facility

Pearwood Skate Center — 1230 Broadway St, Pearland, TX 77581

  • Mondays (7:00 PM – 9:00 PM): Mandatory Must attend at least 4 Monday sessions to qualify.
  • Wednesdays (7:00 PM – 9:00 PM): Optional flat-track practice session.
  • Saturdays (9:00 AM – 10:00 AM): Optional skate park cross-training session.

Skater Qualifications & Key Requirements

  • Skater Eligibility: Female skaters aged 14 and older (under 18 requires parent/guardian signature).
  • Experience Level: Advanced skater with at least 3 years of active roller derby experience.
  • Signed Waiver: A signed liability waiver must be completed prior to your first practice.
  • Attendance: Minimum of 4 Monday practices required.
  • Draft Night: Must attend practice on Monday, October 12th to be evaluated and drafted.
  • Track Setup (Mandatory): Must be present to help build the banked track on Friday, November 6th at 11:00 AM.
  • Banked Track Practice: Must attend Friday team track practice on Friday, November 6th immediately following setup.
  • Game Day: Ready to roll on Saturday, November 7th at 6:00 PM!

Frequently Asked Questions

When is team selection happening?

The draft will be held on Monday, October 12th during practice. Come geared up, warm up, and ready to skate.

What happens if I don't get drafted?

If you have at least 3 years of active derby experience, solid gameplay awareness, and meet attendance requirements, you have a great chance of being rostered! If spots fill up, your pass still gives you a full month of rigorous training and track time with our skaters to get you fully leveled up for the next match.

Do I have to attend every single practice?

No. You are only required to make at least 4 Monday practices (7:00 PM – 9:00 PM). Wednesday practices and Saturday skate park sessions are completely optional bonus track time.

Is track setup mandatory?

Yes! Banked track derby is hands-on. All rostered skaters must be present at Campbell Hall on Friday, November 6th at 11:00 AM to assist with track build before Friday night practice.

What gear do I need?

Full derby safety gear is required for all sessions: quad skates, dual-certified helmet, mouthguard, elbow pads, wrist guards, and knee pads.
